Special Abilities

Legion
Legion abilities may be given to a legion by artifacts, events, praetors, or they can be naturally associated with the legion. Abilities from artifacts and praetors last only as long as the artifact or praetor is attached to the legion.
+1 Combat Round
- Any battle that involves this Legion adds an extra round of combat.
-1 Combat Round
- Any battle that involves this Legion is shortened by one round of combat.
Black Lightning
- Add 1d4 to Ranged damage if the Legion is able to inflict Ranged damage on its opponent.
Black Ring
- Upkeep for this Legion is reduced to zero. There is only one Order of the Black Ring. (Note: This also gives +4-8 HP, +5 Loyalty, +1-4 Ranged, +1-4 Melee, +1-4 Infernal.)
Block Combat Cards
- The enemy may not use Combat Cards during battle.
Center of Evil
- Combat support granted by this unit is not halved
Charge
- Add three to Melee damage during the first round of combat challenges if the Legion is able to inflict Melee damage on its opponent.
Collector of Artifacts
- After a victory in battle, the chance to recover enemy Artifacts is 100%.
Demon Envy
- Every non-excommunicated, non-blood vassal/lord opponent loses 2 Prestige Points each turn
Devour
- When The Devourer survives a battle and defeats a Place of Power (except Pandemonium), the Place of Power must roll a d6 and add its level. If the number is less than 10 then it is destroyed and removed from the map.
Fierce
- Add 1d4 to Melee damage if the Legion is able to inflict Melee damage on its opponent.
Flame Aura
- Add 1d4 to Infernal damage if the Legion is able to inflict Infernal damage on its opponent.
Flying X
- Legion may jump over Cantons (event impassable ones) to a maximum range of X. [Only the canton landed on may have ownership claimed.]
Infernal Crusade
- The Order of the Infernal Crusade is awarded to any Legion that returns from an Unholy Crusade against Heaven’s Ramparts. (Note: This gives +3-8 HP, +2 Loyalty, +1-4 Ranged, +1-4 Melee, +1-4 Infernal.)
Infernal +X
- Add X to the Infernal attribute of the Legion or Place of Power commanded by this Praetor.
- X is between 2 and 4
Infernal First
- The Infernal round occurs first in battle.
Infernal Resist +X
- Negate X points of Infernal damage whenever this Legion loses a Infernal combat challenge.
Infernal Twice
- The Infernal round occurs twice in battle.
Infernal Vul. X
- Inflict X additional points of Infernal damage whenever this Legion loses a Infernal combat challenge.
Level Roll +X
- Add X to the level of the Legion or Place of Power commanded by this Praetor during the following: combat and Resistance Rolls, and determining the number of attachment slots.
- X is between 2 and 4
Loyalty +X
- Add X to the loyalty of the Legion or Place of Power commanded by this Praetor.
- X is 2 or 3
Melee +X
- Add X to the Melee attribute of the Legion or Place of Power commanded by this Praetor.
- X is between 2 and 5
Melee First
- The Melee round occurs first in battle.
Melee Last
- The Melee round occurs last in battle.
Melee Resist +X
- Negate X points of Melee damage whenever this Legion loses a Melee combat challenge.
Melee Twice
- The Melee round occurs twice in battle.
Melee Vul. X
- Inflict X additional points of Melee damage whenever this Legion loses a Melee combat challenge.
Mountain Walk
- Legion may enter mountainous Cantons. [Mountainous cantons may not be owned by any player.]
Rage
- Add 1d6 to Melee damage during the second round of combat challenges if the Legion has lost HP in combat and if the Legion is able to inflict Melee damage on its opponent.
Ranged +X
- Add X to the Ranged attribute of the Legion or Place of Power commanded by this Praetor.
- X is between 2 and 5
Ranged Last
- The Ranged round occurs last in battle.
Ranged Resist +X
- Negate X points of Ranged damage whenever this Legion loses a Ranged combat challenge.
Ranged Twice
- The Ranged round occurs twice in battle.
Ranged Vul. X
- Inflict X additional points of Ranged damage whenever this Legion loses a Ranged combat challenge.
Recovery Specialists
- After a victory in battle, the chance to recover enemy Artifacts is doubled.
Reinforce
- On the turn the legion is purchased, it may be sent to a place of power you control or to Pandemonium as a gift. The legion's hit points, ranged, melee, and infernal attributes will be added to the place of power and the legion will be removed from the game.
- Reinforcing does not require an order slot. The legion will reinforce during the end of the turn step (after phase 6).
- If the target place of power or Pandemonium becomes invalid before the end of turn step, the legion will fail to reinforce and will remain under your control as a regular legion.
- You can dismiss a legion with reinforce to return it to the bazaar. If you are able to then repurchase it, you will be asked about reinforcing again.
- You may use the legion as normal for the one turn when it reinforces. If the legion is killed or removed before the end of turn, the reinforce will fail.
- When the legion successfully reinforces, any praetors or artifacts attached to the legion will be returned to your vault.
Swamp Walk
- Legion may enter marshy Cantons. [Marshy cantons may not be owned by any player.]
Place of Power
+1 Order Slot
- The owner of the place of power gains an additional order slot (still limited to a maximum of 6).
+X Prophecy Roll
- The owner of the place of power adds X when performing prophecy rituals.
+1 Wrath
- The owner of the place of power adds 1 to their wrath level.
Battle Support
- This place of power lends combat support as if it were a legion.
Prestige +X
- The owner of the place of power gains X prestige at the end of each turn.
